Best Treatment For Sunspots On Skin – Get Rid Of Brown Sunspots On Face Naturally

Before we go into details on how to treat sunspots, let’s take a look at its meaning and the possible factors that can cause it.

Sunspots are flat areas of skin discoloration or brown spots that can appear anywhere in the body but they are likely to develop on the parts of the skin (face, back, shoulder, chest, neck, forearms and the back of your hands) that are exposed to the sun. They can also be called liver spots or solar lentigines and they develop based on the amount of sun exposure you’ve had.

Sunspots do not really require any treatment since they are harmless and noncancerous but if you want to remove them for cosmetics purposes then here are some natural remedies that can do the magic for you.

Best Treatment For Brown Sunspots On Face

Here are some natural treatments that can help to remove or lessen the appearance of sunspots on your face.

  1. Lemon:

It is a natural bleaching agent that can help you attain a radiant and flawless look.

  • Use lemon, water and a cotton ball.
  • Squeeze the lemon into a bowl and add equal amounts of water.
  • Dip the cotton ball into the mixture and apply it to the areas with sunspot on your face.
  • Leave for about 20 minutes then rinse with water.

If it causes any skin irritation, reduce the number of times you use the mixture. You can do this for at least 2 or 3 times a week and your skin appearance will be okay.

  1. Papaya:

Papaya contains an enzyme, papain which clears your skin of any impurities and makes it brighter.

Get a papaya, wash it and peel off the skin. Remove the black seeds and cut some parts of the papaya into cubes. Mash the cubes and apply the pulp to the spot. Keep for 10-12 minutes then rinse off with cold water. You can do this twice a week.

  1. Watermelon

Watermelon is rich in Vitamin A, B and C and it works as a natural toner.

  • Cut the watermelon and mash it.
  • Rub the pulp on your face as a mask.
  • Leave for 10 -20 minutes then wash off or you can rub some watermelon juice on your face regularly.
  1. Castor oil:

Use it as a bedtime serum. Apply a few drops to your skin, leave it overnight and wash it off in the morning.

5. A diet rich in vitamin E

This will help to protect your skin against sun damage and it will also lighten the sunspots.

6. Cucumber:

Cut it into different parts. Use it to scrub your face. Wait for a couple of minutes then rinse off.

7. Aloe vera gel:

This has cooling properties that will help soothe your sun-damaged face.

Use it as a serum, apply it to the face after cleansing and then follow with a moisturizer.

  1. Sweet almond oil:

it is full of vitamin A, zinc, potassium, vitamin E, protein and fatty acids that will protect your face from UV radiation damage.

Apply the oil on your face, keep it for few minutes then rinse with warm water. You can do this 2-3 times a week. You can also use it as a face cleanser or moisturizer.

  1. Honey

Honey is full of antioxidants that help to promote cell growth and may help to fade sunspots when applied to the skin. The best to use is raw honey because it contains all the nutrients that are beneficial to the skin.

Apply the honey using your fingers, rub it on your face and leave for 20 minutes before rinsing off.
