Zero Waste Dish Soap Bar Recipe: How To Recycle & Turn Used Cooking Oil Into Cleaning Soap Bar

I have been looking for ways to turn my used cooking oil into zero waste dish soap bars and that is what I did with this recipe.

To follow the instruction for making the soap,  please watch my step by step video at NaturalSkincareSchool.com YouTube Channel

Zero Waste Dish Soap Bar Recipe

Here is the recipe I used to make this Zero Waste Dish Soap Bar

  • Used Cooking Oil822grams
  • Water266grams
  • Lye (zero percent superfat) – 112g
  • D-Limonene aka Orange Oil (Super degreaser additive) – 57g
  • Borax (super cleaning additive) – 28g
  • Soap Mold

Add your D-Limonene (Orange oil)  at light trace and blend well.

Ensure you boil your borax with little water to dissolve it about 5 minutes before soap making and add it at thick trace .

I made this soap using Cold Process Soap Making Technique.

I also removed the impurities from my cooking oil with a strainer and cheese cloth to remove  impurities.

Watch the video below for step by step process.
